Following the successful activities organised in China last November, Dutch Greenhouse Delta (DGD), in close cooperation with RVO and the Dutch Embassy in Beijing continue to strengthen Sino-Dutch cooperation in sustainable, future-proof horticulture.
China’s rapidly modernising horticultural sector offers strong opportunities for Dutch companies, with growing demand for integrated solutions, advanced technology and expertise. The activities in November confirmed the high appreciation for Dutch knowledge and resulted in valuable connections. Read more about these achievements here.
Building on this momentum, SMM China will organise a targeted programme of activities in April, enabling Dutch companies to explore market opportunities, connect with key Chinese partners, and expand their presence in China.
Dutch companies in the horticulture sector (seeds, machinery, greenhouse technology, equipment supply, cultivation, etc.) as well as related sectors such as water, energy, and biodiversity are invited to participate in the following SMM activities.
Sino-Dutch Horticulture Seminar in Zhenjiang & Project Launch, province Jiangsu (7-8 April)
Together with our co-organisers, the local government of Zhenjiang and the Jiangsu Provincial Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, we have prepared the following preliminary programme:
- 7 April: Seminar on the development and cooperation in the Sino-Dutch horticulture sector. Gain valuable insights, connect with relevant stakeholders, and demonstrate how your Dutch expertise contributes to China’s evolving horticultural sector.
- 8 April: Ceremony for the launch of the Sino-Dutch horticulture project and visits to potential horticulture projects in Nanjing and Zhenjiang. This is a unique opportunity to experience projects first-hand, meet decision-makers, and explore concrete opportunities.
2. International Innovation and Rural Development Expo – Hefei, province Anhui (9 April)
Participation in the opening ceremony and conference at the Hefei Binhu International Convention & Exhibition Center, held on 9 and 10 April as part of the International Expo for Innovation and Rural Development. This event is organised together with co-organisers CCTIP Shanghai and the Rural Revitalisation Working Group of the China Association for International Exchange of Urban and Rural Development.

- Joint NL Pavilion – China HortiFlor Expo IPM, Beijing (10-12 April), including a seminar
From 10 to 12 April, SMM China will host a joint booth at the Dutch Pavilion during the China HortiFlor Expo IPM in Beijing, including a dedicated seminar.
Participating companies can benefit of:

- Dedicated space to showcase your company, hold meetings, and give presentationsA joint seminar organised by SMM-China.
The booth is located in the Dutch Pavilion at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall) in Beijing.
- Horticultural Roadshow – Shandong Province (13-15 April)
Preliminary programme:
- 13 April: Kick off in Jinan with a Dutch horticulture seminar at World Horti Center China, followed by a Sino-Dutch business dinner, offering an opportunity to connect with key local stakeholders.
- 14-15 April: Continue the roadshow with matchmaking sessions, seminars, and site visits in Shandong (likely Dezhou), providing hands-on insights into local horticulture projects and potential partnerships.

Dutch companies in horticulture, as well as businesses from the energy, water, and biodiversity sectors connected to horticulture, are invited to participate in SMM activities to showcase their solutions, collaborate with Chinese partners, and explore new market opportunities. The activities are proudly organized under the SMM program, coordinated by the Dutch Embassy in Beijing, RVO, and DGD. Participants have the unique opportunity to attend all the above-mentioned events, including Dutch seminars, high-level roundtable discussions, matchmaking sessions, and visits to horticulture projects.
