Oman Sustainability Week
As Dutch Greenhouse Delta (DGD), we are eager to connect with various public and private stakeholders, including governmental bodies, investors, and other relevant companies. This is why we will be visiting the Oman Sustainability Week, scheduled to take place from 29 April to 04 May in Muscat. DGD aims to visit the event for one day only.
Additionally, we are planning to visit the Port of Sohar to explore their interest in building a potential agropark. This agropark could utilize CO2 from refineries and the chemical industry at the Port, thereby enhancing the sustainability of horticulture practices. An excellent example of this concept is seen in Rotterdam, where roughly 400 kt of CO2 is captured, transported, and utilized in greenhouses each summer to stimulate crop growth.
Oman Sustainability Week aims to underscore the Sultanate of Oman’s commitment to sustainability leadership through innovative strategies aligned with Oman Vision 2040, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the goal of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2050. The event serves as a national platform to accelerate the adoption of clean technologies and engage stakeholders in discussions regarding sustainable development.
Our visit to Oman Sustainability Week comes together with the Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) mission programme, offering a unique opportunity for Dutch organizations. This separate programme includes participation in the Netherlands Pavilion at Oman Sustainability Week, speaking engagements, networking activities, and on-site visits.
