Successful Dutch participation at Gulfood Green in Dubai

Last week, Dutch Greenhouse Delta proudly participated in Gulfood Green, showcasing the Netherlands as a global leader in horticulture technology. The event proved to be both inspiring and productive, with numerous discussions focused on food security in the Middle East.

During the event, we were honored to welcome several distinguished guests at the Netherlands Pavilion, including Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed Al Rashid, member of the Dubai ruling family, and representatives from the UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change & Environment (MOCCAE) and the Qatar Ministry of Municipality, both responsible for critical areas like water and food security. We also held key discussions with representatives from innovative organizations such as Dubai Food Tech Valley, Silal, Armela Farms, Elite Agro, Pure Harvest Smart Farms, and Emirates Flight Catering’s vertical farming project, Bustanica.

Our Middle East and Africa Director, Giovanni Angiolini, participated in a panel discussion at the Food For Future Summit, focusing on sustainable agriculture and next-generation farming practices.

Beyond the pavilion, DGD participated in a strategic meeting on the UAE’s Cluster Strategy at the iconic Etihad Museum, where key public and private stakeholders discussed collaborative approaches to building a sustainable food system.

We extend our gratitude to the Gulfood Green organizers, the Dutch Embassy in the UAE, and our partners for making this event a success. We look forward to further strengthening our collaborations and exploring the exciting opportunities ahead
