We were honored to welcome a large delegation from Shanghai, with representatives from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and twelve Shanghai agricultural companies. Led by Mr. Qian Kang, Division Chief of Industry Development at the Shanghai Commission of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, they visited Dutch Greenhouse Delta (DGD) and its partners.
We introduced them to the strength of the Dutch horticulture cluster and how we collaborate in innovation, education, and international partnerships. Following this, the delegation toured the World Horti Center. In the afternoon they visited DGD-partners Artechno Growsystems and Bayer De Ruiter Seeds.
Signing of a MoU
A highlight of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which formally strengthened our partnership in realizing Shanghai’s horticultural ambitions. By 2027, Shanghai aims to develop twelve agro-parks, incorporating new technology to sustainably supply high-quality vegetables to the local market. On behalf of the Dutch Horticulture cluster, DGD signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Shanghai Rural Industry Association.
