International markets offer significant opportunities for the Dutch greenhouse horticulture and horti-technology sector. At the same time, the international playing field is becoming more complex. Geopolitical shifts, climate pressure, water and food security challenges and changing customer demands are fundamentally reshaping how companies expand internationally.
That is why Dutch Greenhouse Delta (DGD), in collaboration with AVAG, is organising the International Growth Event on Thursday afternoon, 5 March 2026, at the World Horti Center.
From global developments to entrepreneurial strategy
Central to this event is one key question:
how can Dutch companies position themselves internationally in a world that is becoming more uncertain, complex and competitive?
Geopolitical expert Rob de Wijk will outline how global developments such as food sovereignty, water scarcity and shifting power blocs are impacting the international horticulture landscape. He will explain why individual approaches are increasingly insufficient, and why collective positioning is becoming a strategic necessity.
This perspective is followed by André van Troost, who translates geopolitical and market developments into the entrepreneurial context: what do these changes mean in practice for international growth, collaboration and strategic decision-making?
Servitization as a strategic lever
A key part of the programme focuses on servitization, presented by Dirk Deichmann. International customers increasingly demand outcomes, reliability and long-term support rather than standalone technologies. Servitization is explored as a strategic lever to strengthen international propositions, enable long-term partnerships and enhance collective competitiveness.
Practical, interactive and focused on next steps
The International Growth Event is designed to move beyond policy discussions. The focus is on actionable insights, reflection and interaction. Participants will have direct access to public and financial partners and engage in dialogue on follow-up steps, cooperation and strategic positioning. During the networking reception, these partners will be clearly identifiable and available for further conversation.
