DGD continues to build on strong foundations
As of October 31, Giovanni Angiolini will step down from his role as Regional Director Middle East & Africa at Dutch Greenhouse Delta. Until then, he remains fully committed to DGD and our international activities.
With a busy period still ahead, Giovanni will continue to represent the Dutch horticulture sector at several key international events, including Sahara Expo in Cairo, Saudi Agriculture in Riyadh, Abu Dhabi Food Week, and Growtech Middle East in Dubai. As we look ahead, we would already like to express our sincere appreciation for his dedication and involvement over the past years.
Giovanni has played an important role in connecting Dutch knowledge, technology, and expertise in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) with international ambitions in the Gulf region and North Africa. Through his energy, strong network, and commitment, he has contributed significantly to strengthening the position of the Dutch horticulture cluster in these regions.
At the same time, ongoing international developments call for clear focus and well-considered choices. Strengthening the international position of the Dutch horticulture sector remains a key priority for DGD. The relationships and knowledge Giovanni has built in these regions, together with the public-private partnerships established, form a valuable foundation on which DGD will continue to build. Together with our partners, we remain committed to strengthening international collaboration and creating sustainable impact with Dutch horticultural solutions worldwide.
We look forward to the activities still ahead and would already like to thank Giovanni for his significant contribution. We wish him every success in the next step of his career.
Giovanni will remain the point of contact for the MEA region until October 31. Thereafter, Mirjam Boekestijn will assume this role.
