On the 20th of February, the Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade and Development visited the horti-sector in Westland to gain insight into how the horticultural sector contributes to a global sustainable food supply. Ms. Puck van Holsteijn, Director of World Horti Center, Mr. Bouke Arends, Mayor of the municipality of Westland, Arne Weverling, and Ms. Mirjam Boekestijn, acting Director of Dutch Greenhouse Delta took the stage.
Mirjam Boekestijn well explained how Dutch Greenhouse Delta contributes to the goals of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through trade promotion. The Dutch foundation also works closely together and contributes greatly to the goals of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality by promoting sustainable integrated Dutch technology and knowledge to support a global sustainable food supply.
After the presentations, the Minister was given a tour of the World Horti Center, the knowledge and innovation center of the food and flower industry. Afterward, she visited Nature’s Pride and Lely.
