Next week, the Dutch Horti Week will take place at the World Expo in Osaka. A large Dutch delegation will travel to Japan for a trade mission where Dutch horticultural innovation takes centre stage. One of the highlights will be a special dinner in the Dutch pavilion, created by master chef Hidde de Brabander, who was born and raised in the Dutch horticultural hub Westland. The menu gives guests a literal taste of what Dutch horticulture stands for: innovation, health, and joy.
Each course of this dinner tells a story, symbolising a key element of horticulture: from innovation to soil, vegetables, and flowers. Chef Hidde de Brabander explains in short videos how these themes inspired the dishes. In this way, the strength of Dutch greenhouse horticulture comes to life not only on the plate but also in conversation.
The dinner is more than a culinary experience. Japanese and Dutch guests from the horticultural sector will come together to exchange knowledge and build new connections. Such encounters are of great importance: Japan is a strategic partner for the Netherlands and offers opportunities for collaboration in food security and modern horticulture. By being present here, Dutch companies strengthen their position in the international market and contribute to economic growth at home.
