DGD and CSEIA jointly develop a clean energy and modern facility agriculture project in Shandong province

At the 2023 Haiyang Green Energy Development Special Conference held at the Bajiao Bay International Convention and Exhibition Center in Yantai on August 30, 2023, the China Smart Energy Industry Alliance, representing China’s smart clean energy platform, and the Dutch Greenhouse Delta, representing the Dutch facility agriculture industry, reached a cross-border agreement. Together with local Haiyang city, in Yantai, by integrating the two Industries, are willing to jointly develop the first demonstration project of comprehensive utilization of nuclear energy in the field of modern agriculture in China, and build it into a pioneering demonstration project for green, low-carbon and high-quality development in Shandong Province.

The cooperation between these two platforms in different industries and fields, work together, can realize not only multi-energy complementary comprehensive smart energy application innovation and demonstration scenarios, but also reduce almost half of the operating costs in the production of modern facility agriculture projects. This enables early returns of the investment.

At the opening, Mr. Yongtu Long, former Secretary-General of the Boao Forum for Asia and former Vice Minister of the Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, gave his speech. He emphasized that agriculture is the foundation of China. The only way to develop modern agriculture in China is through facility agriculture. We need to learn from the experience of the Netherlands to achieve industrialized production of agricultural and solve the problem of energy consumption. However, Haiyang has abundant green power, steam and other clean energy sources that can be applied with.
